WHAT IS IT?

 

It's NEW!  fitCORE is exclusively available at Houma Strength and Conditioning, and is a light to moderate weight resistance training class, designed to help clients strengthen the core, tone up and lose weight.  Every 2 weeks a new workout cycle is performed, allowing the client to see her progress EVERY week.  Coach Shanna Thibodeaux assists the client in choosing the appropriate intensity based on her level of conditioning (even if, or especially if, it's "none at all!").  Focusing on technique, efficiency and fun, these classes are great for losing inches, toning, core strength, flexibility, meeting new people and getting FIT! 

Simple, common sense nutritional counseling is provided as well for all those interested, with handouts, guides and recipes (given on Fridays to assist with weekend food prep) ready and waiting for you and your family! 

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?

fitCORE is for people looking for a change, to transform their bodies and how they feel about themselves for the better. 

Specifically, fitCORE is for:

Beginners: Help! I've never been in a gym before! or those have less than 3-6 months of any type of training (calling all new moms and people who need a change!).

Intermediates: I've been training for over 6 months, but I need guidance in technique and love to learn new moves.

Advanced: I've been working out for over a year or multiple years, but I need a change and some accountability to push myself to new levels!

WHY SHOULD I JOIN THIS CLASS?

Because we have crafted an amazing program from various fitness regimens into one new program that works for each person, from the beginner just walking into the gym to the advanced endurance athlete who knows that muscular stamina is just as important in training as the cardio portion in order to go the distance.  Additionally, while cardio is great for burning calories in the moment, resistance training will help decrease body fat percentage even while sitting and sleeping!

Who is Coach Shanna?

A wife and mother of 3, Shanna Thibodeaux has been in the fitness industry for several years as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and Level 2 TRX Qualified Instructor.  Her interests are running, swimming and cycling, as well as general strength and conditioning training.  She is an endurance athlete and loves to compete in triathlons and half marathons.  She will be competing in a 70.3 ironman in September 2017. 

Shanna strives to help clients achieve a balanced lifestyle that encompasses all dimensions of health & wellness by creating a training environment that not only motivates, but also empowers individuals to challenge themselves in a fun and rewarding way.
